2016 China (Changsha) International Rail Transit Industry Expo & High-speed Railway Forum
Jointly hosted by the China Railway Society, China Communications and Transportation Association, China Council for Promotion of International Trande Hunan Sub-council, and the People’s Government of Changsha Municipality, the 2016 China (Changsha) International Rail Transit Industry Expo & High-speed Railway Forum (hereinafter referred to as the Expo and Forum) was successfully held at the Changsha International Convention and Exhibition Centre from November 28 to 30, 2016.
There were about 1000 participants attending the opening ceremony and taking part in activities of the Expo and Forum. They were heads of national ministries, commissions, industrial associations of interest such as China Railway, China National Tourism Administration and CCPIT, over 20 academicians, experts, and authoritative experts in the industry, more than 20 ambassadors and counsellors from 18 countries along the "belt and Road", such as Costa Rica, Congo, Uruguay, Mozambique, Belarus, and etc., as well as heads of municipal and prefectural governments, leaders and relevant principals of provincial and county units, delegations from enterprises at home and abroad. The Expo and Forum outperformed others in the national rail transit industry with its distinguished guests.
Leader that attended the opening ceremony and the Forum were as follows: Xu Dazhe, the Deputy Secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and Governor of Hunan Province, who also announced the inauguration of the opening ceremony; Fu Zhihuan, the former Minister of Railways and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Shao Qiwei, the former Director General of China National Tourism Administration; Sun Yongfu, Chairman of China Railway Society and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. Leaders that attended and delivered speeches were as follows: Li Wenxin, the Vice General Manager of China Railway; Lu Pengqi, the Vice Chairman of CCPIT; Yi Lianhong, a then member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee of Hunan Province and the then Secretary of the CPC Municipal Committee of Changsha; Zhang Jianfei, the then Vice Governor of Hunan Province; Wang Derong, the Executive Vice Chairman of China Communications and Transportation Association.
The Expo laid the foundation for becoming the largest-scale exhibition in national rail transit industry with an area of about 45 thousand square meters and nearly 200 renowned enterprises at home and abroad, including CRRC Corp. Ltd., CRSC Corp. Ltd, China Railway Construction Corp. Ltd., China Architecture Corp. Ltd., China Metro Group, Huawei Technology, Sany Group, Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology Corp. Ltd, China Railway Sunward Engineering Equipment Corp. Ltd, Broad Group. The Expo and Forum attracted nearly 10 thousand professional visitors.
The High-Speed Rail Economic Forum held at the same time represents as the first large-scale high-end forum both in China and the world with the theme of “high-speed rail economy”, targeting at comprehensively summarizing and discussing the impact of high-speed rail economy on the regional economic development based on the business operation of more than 8 years in China so that it can promote the international cooperation and better serve the “Belt and Road” initiative. A number of related leaders, well-known experts in the field and scholars were invited to deliver speeches covering major current focuses and national policies in the rail field. More than 800 guests presented at each meeting.
This conference combined the characteristics and the demands of the industry, integrated the exhibition into the forum, featuring the combination of macro and micro aspects. It showed clear picture through the exhibition and organized explorations at the frontier high-end theme forum. Besides, this conference also organized domestic and foreign guests to experience the first domestic middle-low speed maglev train which was independently developed by China from the Changsha High-speed Railway Station to the Huanghua Airport Station, bringing fresh experiences all guests. The conference has thoroughly reflected the concept of new technologies, new commercial activities and new engines.
In addition, sub-events like “2016 China Urban Rail Transit Sustainable Development Forum & Rail Transit Electromechanical Equipment and Informatization Summit” were organized during the conference period with participants of more than 600 people of rail transit units and subway companies in over 40 cities across the country.
In-depth coverage of the conference has been reported in different forms by central media such as People’s Daily, Xinhua News Agency, China National Radio, CCTV, Guangming Daily, Economic Daily News, China Daily, China News Service and China Economic Times, and various profound reports by more than 40 media in Hunan Province like Hunan Daily and Hunan Satellite TV, generating a wide range of influences in society.
This conference was in line with the national strategies such as “13th Five-Year Plan” and the “Belt and Road”, “Made in China 2025” and Industry 4.0, Innovation Drive, and “going out” and “rise of the central region”. It also combined the advantages of rail transit development of Hunan and even the nation and the achievements of production, education and research, creating a national industry event for the entire industrial chain of the rail transit.
